Two export licenses issued since I took office—Minister

Mr Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, has revealed that only two licenses have been issued authorizing the export, sale, or disposal of gold in connection with large-scale operations since he assumed office. Answering a question in Parliament on Wednesday, Mr Buah said, "Mr Speaker, since assuming office as the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, I have issued two licenses authorizing the export, sale, or disposal of gold in connection with large-scale operations." Free eye screening and cataract surgery for 1,000 people ends in Ellembelle

About 1000 people in the Ellembelle District have been screened for eye related diseases and cataract surgery under the mobile clinic initiative of Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Member of Parliament for the area. Five hundred of the people were diagnosed with cataract. Gov’t to sanitise Minerals Commission’s issuance of mining licenses — Lands Minister

The government of Ghana is to overhaul the mining policy and adopt a bottom-up approach in the licensing regime to ensure sanity in the mining sector.
