Presidency commemorates Breast Cancer Awareness month

As part of activities commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Presidency has organised a Breast Cancer Awareness and Screening Programme for its staff. A statement issued by the Presidency said the event, which took place at the Banquet Hall on Friday, October 31, was on the theme: "Catch it Early, Treat it Right and Survive it". It involved a series of activities, including experience sharing, health talk, panel discussion, open forum and breast cancer screening (at the Clinic). Speaker Bagbin leads breast cancer awareness drive, urges MPs to support financially

As part of Ghana’s observance of October as the Pink Month, dedicated to breast cancer awareness, Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has made a striking financial contribution towards the fight against breast cancer. Speaking on the floor of Parliament on Friday, Mr Bagbin announced that each Member of Parliament would be deducted GH₵1,000 from their November salary, with his own top-up of GH₵24,000, culminating in a GH₵300,000 donation to the Breast Society of Ghana. Ghana Launches 2025 Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Theme: “No One Should Face Breast Cancer Alone” The Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Ghana Health Service, Civil Society Organizations, and other stakeholders, has officially launched the 2025 Breast Cancer Awareness Month under the theme “No One Should Face Breast Cancer Alone.” The annual commemoration, held in Accra today, seeks to raise awareness, promote early detection, and strengthen access to quality breast cancer care nationwide. Globally, breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women. In 2022, about 2.3 million women were diagnosed, with 670,000 losing their lives to the disease.
