President Akufo-Addo Commissions 300-Bed Capacity Soldiers’ Block At The 37 Hospital

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has commissioned a three hundred (300)-bed capacity young soldiers’ block at the 37 Military Hospital.  Commissioning the Block on Wednesday, 1st February 2023, President Akufo-Addo stated that the 37 Military Hospital, usually, finds itself with a lot of young soldiers posted to the Unit to commence their basic training in medical care.  Over the years, he explained that “the number has been increasing with nowhere to house these young soldiers, as they have to be on the hospital premises to learn their trade.” According to the President, it is for this reason that then Director General of Health Services, Brigadier General Ralph Ametepe, conceived and started this project in 2016.  “With the use of in...

37 Military Hospital halts 2021/2022 nursing and midwifery admissions

The Nursing and Midwifery Training College of the 37 Military Hospital Thursday announced that it would end the sale of online admission application vouchers for the 2021/2022 academic year next week. A statement issued in Accra on Thursday by the Ghana Armed Forces Public Relations Directorate said the sale of E-Vouchers would end on Monday 16 August 2021. It said the College would commence with the entrance examination and interview process on Saturday, August 21, 2021. The statement cautioned that no agents or individuals had been commissioned to sell the E-Vouchers."Only qualified applicants would be contacted for the next stage of the admission process," it said.

Kennedy Agyapong blesses 37 Military Hospital again

Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, has presented a cheque of USD100,000 to the 37 Military Hospital. This comes barely a few weeks after he cut the sod for the construction of Cardiothoracic Centre. The money is to facilitate the training of medical personnel in India to man the ultra-modern Cardiothoracic Centre under construction within the hospital. A total of eight medical personnel are expected to benefit from his benevolence. The eight are said to include; Lt Col. Kwame Acheampong Adomako – Surgeon, Dr Gordon Offei-Larbi – Surgeon; SQ LDR; Benjamin Toboh, Cardiologist and Dr Nana Yaa Kyei-Frimpong – also a Cardiologist. The rest are, CDR. Bawumia commissions Infectious Diseases Treatment Centre at 37 Military Hospital

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has commissioned and handed over an ultra-modern Infectious Diseases Treatment Centre at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra. Originally conceived in 2014 at the height of the Ebola crisis, the 25-bed facility, which also houses a Command Centre to coordinate the activities of isolation centres across the country and a Health Surveillance Unit, began in April 2019 and completed after 10 months at a cost of GH₵4.8m.
