President John Dramani Mahama today, January 7, marks one year in office with a non-denominational thanksgiving service at the forecourt of Jubilee House, Accra, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Held under the theme “Resetting. Rebuilding. Renewing.”, the service brings together religious leaders, senior state officials, members of the diplomatic corps and invited guests to offer prayers of gratitude and reflect on the nation’s journey over the past year.
According to the Presidency, the gathering is to thank God for national stability and to reaffirm the administration’s commitment to renewal, unity and inclusive governance as it enters its second year.

President Mahama returned to office after winning the December 7, 2024 elections with 56.55% of the valid votes, and was sworn in on January 7, 2025, after eight years in opposition.
In his 2026 New Year message, the President assured Ghanaians that the country is steadily emerging from economic and social hardships, citing progress made through reforms and prudent economic management under his Reset Agenda. He called for national unity beyond partisan politics and outlined an ambitious roadmap for accelerated reforms in the year ahead.
Today’s thanksgiving service marks a key moment of reflection as the Mahama administration transitions into its second year in office.
