POLICE CONDUCT SPECIAL ANTI-CRIME OPERATION AHEAD OF CHRISTMAS

The Navrongo Divisional Police Command has carried out a special anti-crime operation as part of heightened security measures to ensure the safety of residents during the Christmas festivities.

The operation, conducted on December 18, 2025, began at about 6:00 p.m. and targeted several identified crime-prone areas within the Navrongo township. The exercise forms part of the Ghana Police Service’s broader strategy to prevent crime and maintain law and order during the festive season.

During the operation, eight suspects were arrested in connection with suspected criminal activities. The suspects have been identified as Mohammed Nasiru, aged 35; Pwoawuvi Isaac, 24; Roger Kansah, 35; Akinkana Akanpiiba, 30; Kingsley Adafula, 22; Abraham Akanporise, 25; Zakaria Mohammed, 25; and Clinton Atinmoliga, 25.

Police also recovered several items believed to be linked to criminal activity. These include quantities of tramadol tablets, seven pairs of scissors, a mobile phone, a television set, and a motorcycle.

The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations. They will be screened, and those found culpable will be arraigned before court to face prosecution in accordance with the law.

The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property before, during, and after the Christmas celebrations. The Service has also appealed to members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station to help enhance community safety.
