The Ghana Police Service has arrested ten individuals linked to a disturbing viral video showing two young women being assaulted in Wassa Dawuranpong after they were accused of stealing money from a gold buying shop.

The arrests were carried out through a joint operation between the IGP’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team and the Western Central Regional Police Command.

According to police information, three of the suspects — Eric Donkor, popularly known as Killer Block, aged 32; Yaw Gyimah, 29; and Edmond Nartey, 24 — were directly involved in the brutal abuse captured in the video. They were reportedly seen cutting through the scalps of the victims with a sharp razor.

Another key suspect, identified as Tawiah, also known as Awaga, who was seen inflicting razor cuts on one of the women, is currently on the run. Police have launched a manhunt to track him down.

Seven additional suspects — Stephen Amu (24), Farouk Balas (18), Mensah Bernard (18), Adu Baggeo (23), Bismark Nyarko (30), Akwesi Poku George (18), and Oteng Alfred (23) — were arrested for various roles in aiding and abetting the crime.

Police say all suspects will undergo screening, after which the main culprits will be arraigned before court to face justice.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to locate the victims to ensure they receive urgent medical care and any other support required.

The Western Central Regional Police Command has strongly cautioned the public against taking the law into their own hands, emphasizing that all suspected offenders should be handed over to the police for due legal process.

The Police Administration has reaffirmed its commitment to securing justice for the victims and preventing similar acts of mob brutality in communities.
