IGP Promotes 35 Officers for exemplary role in Adabraka Gold Robbery arrest

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, on 15 January 2026, promoted thirty-five (35) police officers in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the arrest of suspects involved in the Adabraka gold robbery in Accra.

The promotions were conferred on officers who displayed exceptional professionalism, dedication and teamwork during operations that led to the apprehension of suspects linked to the high-profile daylight robbery at a jewellery shop in Adabraka in November 2024.

Congratulating the officers, IGP Yohuno, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), commended them for their commitment to duty and urged them to view the promotions as a call to higher responsibility, leadership and accountability. He further encouraged the officers to remain disciplined and continue working diligently in the service of the nation.

The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to recognising merit and rewarding excellence as part of efforts to strengthen professionalism, boost morale and enhance effective policing across the country.
