Hearts of Oak Condemns Hooliganism After Violent Scenes in Kotoko-Nsoatreman Clash

Accra Hearts of Oak has strongly condemned the rising incidents of hooliganism in the Ghana Premier League following the violent clashes that marred the game between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC at the Nana Koramansah Park.

The club expressed deep concern over the chaotic scenes that led to injuries and the tragic death of a Kotoko supporter, emphasising the need for immediate action to curb violence in Ghanaian football.

In a statement, Hearts of Oak reaffirmed their commitment to fair play and sportsmanship, stressing that football should unite rather than divide people. “United by the game, not divided by violence.

Let’s all stand up against hooliganism,” the club declared, urging all stakeholders to work together to eliminate unruly behaviour from the sport.

The club acknowledged the devastating impact of the violence, particularly the loss of a passionate football fan, and extended condolences to the family of the deceased.

Hearts of Oak called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and security agencies to take swift action against those responsible, ensuring that stadiums remain safe for players, officials, and supporters.

As one of Ghana’s most successful football clubs, Hearts of Oak emphasised the importance of fostering a football culture built on respect and discipline.

They encouraged fans across the country to reject violence and embrace the true spirit of the game, where rivalry is celebrated with passion but without aggression.

With growing concerns over safety at league venues, Hearts of Oak reiterated their support for stronger security measures and stricter enforcement of rules against hooliganism. The club urged all teams, officials, and supporters to unite in promoting a safe and competitive football environment in Ghana.
