The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Gazale Abdulai, Assistant Coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, following an incident during a Ghana Premier League match.
In an official update on regulatory actions for the 2025/2026 season, the GFA disclosed that Abdulai has been charged with breaching Article 12(1)(h) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019. The charge stems from events that occurred during the Premier League fixture between Medeama SC and Accra Hearts of Oak.
According to the GFA, it is alleged that Gazale Abdulai assaulted a ball retriever during the course of the match. The incident has since attracted attention, prompting the football governing body to take swift regulatory action.

The Assistant Coach has been formally notified of the charge and has been given until Thursday, 08 January 2026, to submit his response to the allegations.
The GFA is expected to determine the next course of action after reviewing Abdulai’s response, in line with its disciplinary procedures. Further updates will be communicated as the case progresses.
