The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced the resumption of its 2025/2026 recruitment exercise within the Greater Accra Region, following a temporary suspension last week. The exercise will restart on Thursday, 20 November 2025, with revised measures aimed at ensuring a smooth and safe screening process.
According to a statement signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, the screening will now take place across eight sub-centres located within five key venues:
- El-Wak Stadium – 2 centres
- Nicholson Park, Burma Camp – 2 centres
- Air Force Base, Burma Camp
- Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Teshie – 2 centres
- Eastern Naval Command, Tema
GAF noted that all qualified applicants, arranged in batches of 600 persons, will receive SMS notifications indicating their reporting dates, batches, and designated centres. Applicants are also advised to regularly check the recruitment portal for updates.

Those who do not receive a text message by Thursday, 20 November 2025, are encouraged to contact the helpline on 0256405104 or WhatsApp 0256405154 for assistance, or verify details via the recruitment portal.
To reduce congestion and ensure order, GAF strongly cautions families and friends not to accompany applicants to the screening centres, emphasizing that non-applicants will not be granted entry.
Meanwhile, the Board of Inquiry investigating the tragic stampede that occurred earlier is still in progress. To ensure transparency, the entire Greater Accra Recruitment team has been replaced. The new leadership overseeing the process includes:
- Commodore F.A. Nyarko – Director General, Human Resource
- Colonel F. Kusi-Darko – Director, Manpower
- Colonel G.B. Eduah – Director, Information Technology
GAF reaffirmed its commitment to accountability, assuring the public that any individual found responsible for the incident will face appropriate sanctions.
The Armed Forces expressed deep regret over the unfortunate event, extending condolences to the bereaved families and wishing the injured a speedy recovery. All injured applicants will continue to receive free medical care at the 37 Military Hospital until full recovery. Additionally, GAF has announced a special recruitment package for the injured and for the families of those who lost their lives.
The statement concluded with a call for continued cooperation from the public as the recruitment exercise picks up again.
