CHRISTMAS SPECIAL OPERATIONS: POLICE ARREST SEVERAL SUSPECTS ACROSS THE ASHANTI REGION

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested several suspects during a series of targeted operations conducted as part of its Christmas Special Operations across the region.

The intelligence-led operations were carried out at identified crime-prone areas including Bantama, Sofoline, Tech Junction, Mankranso, Patase Mango Down (Bohyen), Ashanti Central, Juaso, Jacobu, and Agogo. The exercise forms part of heightened security measures aimed at ensuring the safety of residents before, during, and after the festive season.

During the operations, police personnel conducted stop-and-search exercises, patrols, and swoops on suspected criminal hideouts. Several individuals were arrested for various offences, including robbery, possession of offensive weapons, and other suspected criminal activities.

As part of the operations, police also made progress in ongoing investigations, including the arrest of a key suspect connected to a recent robbery attack at the Juaso District Forestry Services Division. The suspect is currently assisting police with investigations, while efforts continue to apprehend other accomplices involved in the incident.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has assured the public that all arrested suspects will be screened and those found culpable will be put before the court, while innocent persons will be released.

The Command has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the festive season and has urged the public to cooperate with the police by providing timely and reliable information to help fight crime.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station as the Christmas celebrations approach.
