Heritage month: GTA urges parents to encourage children to learn local dialects, prepare diets

GTA CEO addresses viral video of alleged extortion by local tour guide

Mrs Maame Efua Sekyi-Aidoo Houadjeto, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), has recommended that local tour guides conduct themselves professionally when dealing with tourists so as not to tarnish the country's image.  Her assertion comes after Wode Maya, a famous Ghanaian tourism ambassador shared a video online of a local tour guide allegedly extorting money from a tourist in Jamestown, Accra. GTA to launch ‘Tourism Police’ for safer, better sites and attractions

Mr Japhet Aryiku, the Executive Director, W.E.B. Du Bois Museum Foundation, has expressed the Foundation’s commitment to transforming the W.E.B. Du Bois Centre in Accra into a world-class museum complex.   The state-of-the-art facility, among other objectives, intends to promote deeper understanding of African and African-American history.   In a release following the 157th anniversary of the birth of W.E.B. Upper East GTA presents cocoa products to quadruplets delivered on Chocolate Day  

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has presented cocoa products to a set of quadruplets delivered at the Upper East Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga, on this year’s National Chocolate Day.   The four babies, all boys, were born to a 30-year-old Madam Patience Akanzeriwe from Sandema, a few hours before the Upper East Regional Directorate of the GTA arrived at the hospital to mark the celebrations with kids admitted at the referral facility.   In an interview with the Ghana News Agency on the sidelines of the celebration, Dr Gillian Bogee, the Head of Newborn Care Unit, Upper East Regional Hospital, said the babies were 27 weeks and were delivered prematurely but through normal delivery.   She explained that Madam Akanzeriwe was transferred from Sandema to the reg...

The fountains are working, new irrigation system in place – Nkrumah Park Director assures

The management of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park says it is installing new irrigation systems to augment water flow to enhance the functioning of the fountains and irrigate the lawns to beautify the park.   News in circulation a week ago indicated that the lawns had dried up, washrooms were unkept and the beautiful fountains were bereft of water. Mr Edward Quao, the Acting Director of the Park, said water flow from the Ghana Water Limited (GWL) to the Park was a challenge, hence the need to install a new irrigation system to augment the flow.
