Play-In pairings set in Season 9 of the Basketball Champions League

 The first group stage of the Ninth Symphony season in the Basketball Champions League concluded on Wednesday, with the Regular Season coming to a close after 10 weeks of action.Eight teams have directly qualified for the Round of 16 (starting January 28), in alphabetical order: AEK Betsson BC (GRE), BAXI Manresa (ESP), ERA Nymburk (CZE), FIT/One Wurzburg Baskets (GER), La Laguna Tenerife (ESP), Rytas Vilnius (LTU), UCAM Murcia (ESP) and Unicaja (ESP).Sixteen teams will play best-of-three Play-Ins in order to join them (with the home advantage for the second-placed teams from the Regular Season). The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), the umbrella body of sports journalists in Ghana has announced nominees for the 49th edition of the most prestigious SWAG Awards.  Over 80 athletes, officials and corporate bodies have been named to receive various honours at the longest running awards event in the country.   In a statement issued and signed by the General Secretary of the Association and copied to the GNA Sports explained that the SWAG Awards was an occasion and event to celebrate sports excellence.   It added that the event was the longest running award scheme in Ghana that had rewarded top performing Sports Men and Women consistently since 1975 and recognized the efforts of persons involved in Sports development.   The 49th edition...

  Alidu Seidu undergoes successful surgery after rupturing cruciate ligament 

Black Stars defender Alidu Seidu has undergone a successful surgery after rupturing his cruciate ligament on November, 2025.  The Stade Rennes defender suffered a season-ending injury during his side's Ligue 1 match against Lille.  Seidu was stretched off the field in the 17th minute after landing awkwardly, resulting in a cruciate ligament injury in his left knee.  A statement on Stade Rennes' website said: "Alidu Seidu underwent surgery on Monday in Paris after rupturing the cruciate ligament in his left knee against LOSC on Matchday 12 of Ligue 1.      "The operation went well for the Ghanaian international.
