President Mahama to grace 49th SWAG Awards

President John Mahama will be the Guest of Honour for the 49th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) awards scheduled for Friday, January 24,2025. The event, which seeks to honour the outstanding achievements of Ghanaian sports personalities would take place at the Accra International Conference Centre. Under the theme, “Gold and Glory, a call for change in national orientation and investment in sports” the President is expected to share his vision for sports development and honor the achievements of the award winners. The Football Association  is pleased to announce the formation of a new Management Committee for the Senior Male National Team, the Black Stars. The Committee, which is tasked with overseeing the administrative and logistical aspects of the team, will be chaired by Dr. Randy Abbey, an Executive Council member of the GFA. Manisa set to host the third edition of the Youth BCL

The Youth Basketball Champions League is back for its third season, and the city of Manisa, Türkiye has been selected as the host of the event in 2025. The prime standalone pan-European club competition for U18 teams will tip off at the Tarik Almis arena on April 22 and the champions will be crowned on April 27. Update on CAF U-17 GIFT Tournament Kick-Off Time for the Final

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced a change of schedule for the much-anticipated final of the CAF U-17 GIFT tournament. The All-Tanzania final between TDS Girls and JKT Queens which was initially scheduled for Saturday, 18 January at 18h00 Local Time will now take place at 19h00 Local Time at the Azam Complex in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The rescheduling of the kick-off time was made to ensure that clubs have added preparation periods and sufficient time for fans to make their way to the stadium. The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has confirmed the draw procedure of the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 Final Draw.
