More than 70,000 health professionals remain unemployed -COHHETI

More than 70,000 health professionals in the country remain unemployed, Miss Margaret Mary Alacoque, the President Conference of Heads of Health Training Institutions (COHHETI) said on Tuesday. She expressed concern about what she described as “over the overproduction of general nurses and midwives” and worried about the continuous establishment of new nursing training colleges in the country. Operation Walk Syracuse provides orthopedic relief at St. Joseph Hospital

Operation Walk Syracuse, a U.S.-based non-profit medical organisation, has begun a week-long orthopaedic surgery programme at St. Joseph Catholic Hospital at Koforidua, providing free treatment to around 100 patients from across Eastern Region. The initiative, which started on October 10 and is expected to end on October 17, aims to ease the financial burden of orthopaedic surgery for patients suffering from debilitating joint conditions.
