The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has assured the public that Ghana’s Senior National Women’s Team, the Black Queens, are safe and in good condition in the United Arab Emirates, where they are currently competing in the Pink Ladies Cup.
In an official statement, the Ministry indicated that the team is participating in the tournament as part of its preparations toward the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
According to the statement, the Hon. Minister for Sports and Recreation has maintained constant communication with the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, and Ghana’s diplomatic mission in the UAE to closely monitor developments and ensure the team’s continued safety and welfare.

Officials from Ghana’s Mission in the UAE have reportedly visited the team’s camp and offered direct assurances of the government’s full support and commitment to their safety. The Ministry commended the Embassy for its swift response, proactive engagement, and strong coordination during this period.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the welfare and well-being of all Ghanaian athletes representing the country abroad. It emphasized that the situation in the region continues to be closely monitored in collaboration with the appropriate authorities, with readiness to implement any necessary measures in the best interest of the team.
The Ministry further urged the public to remain calm and continue supporting the Black Queens as they focus on their preparations and performance in the tournament.
