The Ahafo Regional Police Command has arrested two members of a robbery syndicate that launched coordinated attacks on multiple institutions at Nkasiem on 2nd December 2025.
According to police reports, the gang simultaneously targeted a gold buying company and a cocoa buying company, seized two police rifles, and attempted—unsuccessfully—to break into the vault of the Asutifi Rural Bank, all within the same vicinity.
The armed robbers, wielding pump-action guns, also shot and injured a civilian in the thigh during the operation. The victim received medical attention at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Hwidiem and has since been treated and discharged.

Following a targeted intelligence-led operation, police arrested two of the suspects, while efforts are underway to track down the remaining members of the syndicate.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has deployed a special anti-robbery team from the National Police Headquarters in Accra to support the Regional Command in apprehending the fugitives.
The Ahafo Regional Police Command has assured the public that all individuals involved in the criminal operation will be identified, arrested, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
