Police Secure Conviction of two robbery suspects in Ashanti South

The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has secured the conviction and sentencing of two individuals for robbery and related offences following thorough investigations and successful prosecution at the Bekwai Circuit Court. The convicts are Francis Oppong, also known as Kwame Abuu, a resident of Kyekyewere near Obuasi, and Francis Nyamekye, also known as Amearo. Both were found guilty after a full trial. They were first put before the Bekwai Circuit Court on 30th January 2024 on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, aiding and abetment of robbery, and robbery, contrary to Sections 23(1), 20(1), and 149 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). The Ghana Police Service, through the Special Support Unit, has arrested three suspects in connection with a series of robberies reported in Afienya, Atadeka, Apollonia, and surrounding communities in the Greater Accra Region. The suspects, identified as Seth Noi Tetteh, also known as “Wonder,” and two others, Selasie Emmanuel and Sulemana Osman, were arrested on 24th December 2025 and 26th December 2025, respectively, following information that suspect Seth Noi Tetteh had been taken into custody at the Atadeka Police Station for his alleged involvement in multiple robbery incidents in the area. Two Robbery Suspects Arrested in Ahafo Region; IGP Deploys Special Anti-Robbery Team to Pursue Fugitives

The Ahafo Regional Police Command has arrested two members of a robbery syndicate that launched coordinated attacks on multiple institutions at Nkasiem on 2nd December 2025. According to police reports, the gang simultaneously targeted a gold buying company and a cocoa buying company, seized two police rifles, and attempted—unsuccessfully—to break into the vault of the Asutifi Rural Bank, all within the same vicinity. The armed robbers, wielding pump-action guns, also shot and injured a civilian in the thigh during the operation.
