POLICE FOIL ROBBERY PLOT IN OBUASI, ARREST TWO SUSPECTS
The Ghana Police Service has disrupted a planned robbery operation in Obuasi, leading to the arrest of two suspects linked to both a recent high-value robbery and a separate planned attack.
According to the Ashanti South Regional Police Intelligence Directorate, the operation followed credible intelligence received on April 16, 2026, indicating that a group of armed men were preparing to carry out a robbery in the mining town. Acting swiftly, a police team tracked down and arrested Iddrisu Fuseini, also known as “Iddi,” at his hideout in Bedieso, a suburb of Obuasi.
