Athletics Kenya has been selected as the winning Member Federation of the Kids’ Athletics Day challenge after contributing almost a quarter of the participants in the ‘Relay Around the World’. An estimated 25 million people are living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa Eight countries - six of them in Africa, including Nigeria, Kenya and Lesotho - could soon run out of HIV drugs following the US government's recent decision to pause foreign aid, the UN World Health Organization (WHO) said. US President Donald Trump announced the freeze on his first day in office in January as part of a review into government spending. "Disruptions to HIV programmes could undo 20 years of progress," WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned. With two days to go before the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) conducts the official draw for the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 finals, three legends who will take part in the ceremony have been confirmed, with one each from co-hosts Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The draw will be conducted on Wednesday, 15 January at the Kenyatta International Conventional Centre in Nairobi, Kenya at 20h00 local time (17h00 GMT / 19h00 Cairo time). CAF President Dr Motsepe begins two-day tour of CHAN 2024 Host Nations in Tanzania on Thursday

The Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) President Dr Patrice Motsepe began his two-day tour of the nations that will host the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (“CHAN”) with a visit to Tanzania on Thursday, 19 December 2024. Dr Motsepe visited Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar on Thursday. He will travel to Kenya and Uganda on Friday where he will meet with the Heads of State and football leadership in the two countries. In Tanzania, the CAF President visited the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam where he inspected its readiness to host matches in the CHAN competition. CAF President Dr Motsepe meets Kenya Head of State HE President Ruto during CHAN visit in Kenya

The Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) President Dr Patrice Motsepe today met  Kenya Head of State, President William Ruto at State House in Nairobi, Kenya on Friday, 20 December 2024. Dr Motsepe was in Kenya as part of his working visit to the three countries that will host the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship 2024 (“CHAN”). Yesterday, he was in Tanzania. Later on Friday, he will travel to Uganda.  CAF President Dr Motsepe and President Ruto discussed preparations for the CHAN tournament. He  thanked President Ruto for his continued support of football in Kenya.
