Two Accra hospitals deliver 26 babies at Christmas

Two health facilities in the Greater Accra Region recorded 26 deliveries on December 24 and Christmas Day, the Ghana News Agency has learnt. The deliveries occurred at the Mamprobi Polyclinic and the 37 Military Hospital. Of the total births, 13 were spontaneous vaginal deliveries (SVD) while 13 were by caesarean section (CS). The Mamprobi Polyclinic recorded eight deliveries, comprising three females and five males, all through normal delivery. At the 37 Military Hospital, five babies were delivered through normal delivery, three on December 24 and two on December 25, in addition to 13 births by caesarean section. Over 40 people, including children, killed in Sudan hospital attack, says WHO chief

Over 40 people, including children and health care workers, were killed in an attack on a hospital in Sudan at the weekend, the head of the World Health Organization said on Tuesday. Saturday's attack on the Al Mujlad Hospital took place in West Kordofan, near the front line between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, who have been fighting each other since the conflict broke out in April 2023. WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called for attacks on health infrastructure to stop, without saying who was responsible.
