The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has officially approved the fees and charges to be levied by the University of Ghana for the 2025/2026 academic year, bringing clarity to students, parents, and university management. In a formal communication issued on behalf of the Minister of Education, the Director-General of GTEC outlined the approved fee components and emphasized compliance with the directive. GTEC Orders University of Ghana to Reverse Fee Increases for 2025/2026 Academic Year

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has directed the University of Ghana to immediately reverse all fee increases implemented for the 2025/2026 academic year, citing a clear violation of an earlier directive. In a letter referencing an earlier correspondence dated November 3, 2025 (Ref. No. HA 42/1/01), GTEC reminded the University that all publicly funded tertiary institutions were expressly instructed not to increase fees for the 2025/2026 academic year. Dr. Eric Oduro Osae rejects GTEC directive over doctoral title 

Dr. Eric Oduro Osae, a former Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency, has publicly rejected the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission’s (GTEC) directive to cease using the title “Dr.” following questions about the validity of his terminal degrees.   In a letter dated October 27, 2025, addressed to the GTEC’s Director General and sighted by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) Dr. Osae stated that he had not received any formal communication from the GTEC regarding the matter.  He also reaffirmed his confidence in the legitimacy of his academic credentials.  "I wish to state categorically that I have not received any such letter from your outfit.
