IGP Orders Probe into Viral Allegation of Unauthorised GH₵400,000 Mobile Money Withdrawal

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has directed the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to investigate allegations captured in a viral video concerning the unauthorized withdrawal of GH₵400,000 from the account of a mobile money agent at Kibi. The directive follows widespread circulation of a video on social media in which claims were made that some police personnel were involved in the withdrawal of the substantial sum from the agent’s mobile money account. Three Robbery Suspects Arrested, Firearms recovered In Afienya and it Environs

The Ghana Police Service, through the Special Support Unit, has arrested three suspects in connection with a series of robberies reported in Afienya, Atadeka, Apollonia, and surrounding communities in the Greater Accra Region. The suspects, identified as Seth Noi Tetteh, also known as “Wonder,” and two others, Selasie Emmanuel and Sulemana Osman, were arrested on 24th December 2025 and 26th December 2025, respectively, following information that suspect Seth Noi Tetteh had been taken into custody at the Atadeka Police Station for his alleged involvement in multiple robbery incidents in the area. Two Arrested Over Fatal Stabbing at Asankrangwa

The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man at the Asankrangwa Education Area on Sunday, August 17, 2025. According to preliminary investigations, the deceased was chased by a group of individuals, including the two suspects, before being stabbed multiple times. Police say the attack stemmed from a prior misunderstanding between the victim and one of the suspects, identified as Kwasi Opong. Two Arrested for Possession of Suspected Indian Hemp in Eastern Region

The Eastern North Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals, Hawa Ibrahim and Latifa Adams, for possessing a large quantity of suspected Indian hemp. The suspects were apprehended on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, during an intelligence-led operation in Antokrom, Eastern Region. A search of Hawa Ibrahim’s residence uncovered 24 maxi bags containing 1,650 slabs of compressed and ball-shaped substances believed to be Indian hemp. Both suspects are currently in custody and assisting police with investigations. Authorities have confirmed that the suspects will be processed through the legal system.
