Ghana premier league giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko has announced the signing of experienced forward Sampson Eduku on a one-and-a-half-year contract.
The 29-year-old striker brings a wealth of experience to the Porcupine Warriors, having previously played for Samartex and Tamale City.
During the 2022/23 season with Tamale City, Eduku was sinscintillating form, netting 14 goals and providing 4 assists.
His impressive performances earned him a move to Iraqi Premier League side Al Quwa Al Jawiya, where he further showcased his goal-scoring prowess.
Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum welcomed Eduku’s addition to the squad, stating: “Sampson is a proven goal scorer with great versatility and experience. His ability to find the back of the net and create opportunities for others will add a new dimension to our attack. We’re excited to have him join us and believe he’ll make an immediate impact.”
Sampson Eduku expressed his excitement about the move, saying: “It feels amazing to join a club as big as Kotoko. This is a massive step in my career, and I’m fully aware of the expectations that come with playing for this great club. I’m here to work hard, score goals, and help the team achieve its ambitions. Competing with talented players like Albert Amoah and Kwame Opoku will only push me to be better. I relish the competition, and I’m ready to give my best for this great club.”
Eduku’s signing marks the second high-profile forward to join Kotoko this transfer window, following Kwame Opoku’s arrival a few weeks ago.
