The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect captured in a viral video discharging a firearm at a public event held at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra on December 28, 2025.
According to the Police, the arrest was carried out by the Cyber Vetting Team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters on December 29, 2025, at Adenta. The suspect has been identified as Abubakari Sadick, popularly known as “Cyborg.” He was arrested for the unlawful possession and discharge of a firearm.
Police investigations led to the retrieval of the weapon used in the incident, identified as a Derya MK-12 firearm bearing registration number 22-GHA-1162. The firearm has since been secured as evidence to aid ongoing investigations.

The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting investigators. He is expected to be arraigned before court in the coming days to face the law.
In a statement, the Ghana Police Service cautioned the general public that possession of a registered firearm does not grant the holder the right to discharge it indiscriminately or in public spaces. The Police emphasized that firearm licenses can be revoked, and offenders may be charged accordingly under the law.
The Police Service reiterated its commitment to maintaining public safety and urged citizens to adhere strictly to the laws governing firearm possession and use.
