Mr. Patrick Escu Xormenyor Agboyibor, the former Volta Regional Welfare Officer of the Youth Employment Agency, has supported Shell Tobacco Block electoral area in the Akatsi South Municipality with working tools to foster environmental cleanliness in the area.
The donation includes two spades, a pickaxe, two wellington boots, and an undisclosed amount of money to aid in the efforts to maintain a clean and conducive environment.
Mr. Agboyibor who was also former Akatsi South Municipal Director of the Youth Employment Agency, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said that the initiative was to promote community development and environmental cleanliness and as well as commitment to improving the lives of residents in the area.

“This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the community by promoting environmental cleanliness, we need to promote cleanliness since it is next to Godliness,” he said.
He explained that the support was also to empower the electoral area to further organise communal labour in the area and called for youths and communities to engagement and collaborate to keep the environment clean to help eradicate various communicable diseases.
He said the items were to aid and motivate the community to get involve in communal labours which include clearing of bushes, digging holes for proper disposal of rubbish, creating ways for stagnant waters, among others to destroy breeding ground for mosquitoes and the safety of the public.
“I think it is a time for all of us to come together and support our communities with the little we have to improve our areas to develop and progress.”
Mr. Agboyibor, who has also expressed his intention to contest in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) Akatsi South constituency chairmanship position, also appealed to other benevolence donors to support environmental protection initiatives to protect various communities.
Mr. Wonder Gatepe, the Assembly Member of Shell Tobacco electoral area, who received the donations on behalf of the communities, expressed excitement over the support and thanked Mr. Agboyibor for the kind gesture that would help improve on the communal labour in the community.
He said the initiative has also received support from other sponsors, which include companies such as Divinelinks Technology, Defender Scrap Ventures, Agbesco Ventures, His Majesty Haircut, Area Fast Food, Future Builders Foundation, and other individuals.
He also appealed to the public to flood in their donations to support the initiative and called on the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), of the area, Mr. Daniel Dagba, organisations, and other philanthropists to donate streetlights to help scare or prevent deviants and improve the overall security of the area.
Mr. Gatepe said the plan was to continue working towards improving the environment and security of the area, and the community was counting on the support of the public and stakeholders to achieve their goals.
GNA also observed some area boys digging and clearing bushes and dumping sites at Akatsi Demonstration area to maintain the cleanliness of the community.
