After 28 years, the university now has a student population of 13, 621, made up of 147 Master of Technology and Master of Science students, 8,012 Bachelor of Technology students, 4,341 HND students, and 1,121 non-HND professional and technical students.

Advising the graduands, Professor Owusu charged them to deploy the treasured resources acquired from the university to make a positive impression on the people around them.
He said, “I caution you against arrogance and indiscipline in the workplace. Your certificate, your knowledge, and your skills may help you create a business or secure a job, but remember, your attitude will determine whether your business will succeed or whether you can keep your job. Good work ethics are the key to your success.”
Regarding infrastructure, he said work on the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) projects financed by the Ghana Government in the university were progressing steadily.
However, he made an appeal to GETFund and investors to provide the university with a library complex, and students’ hostel.
Also, the Vice- Chancellor appealed to the government to give the university the opportunity to replace exited staff and to give us clearance to employ new staff to augment our staff strength.
