Businessman and politician, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has officially announced his intention to contest for the flagbearership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the 2028 General Elections.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Mr. Agyapong revealed that he will formally file his nomination on Wednesday, 27th August 2025 at 1:00 PM at the NPP’s National Party Headquarters in Accra.
The Assin Central MP, known for his outspoken and uncompromising political style, outlined the central theme of his campaign, which will be anchored on three pillars: Patriotism, Honesty and Discipline.
According to him, these values will serve as the foundation for uniting the party, restoring public confidence, strengthening the national economy, and building what he described as “a Ghana that works for every citizen.”
“The future begins now,” he declared, rallying party faithful and Ghanaians to support his bid under the campaign hashtag #Ken2028.
Mr. Agyapong joins the growing list of NPP stalwarts seeking to lead the party into the next election cycle after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s tenure.
