Inaugural CAF U-17 Girls Integrated Football Tournament (GIFT) Tanzania 2025 draw conducted in Der es Salaam

  • GIFT Tournament to take place in Dar es Salaam between 7 – 18 January 
  • Eight U-17 women’s clubs from across the CECAFA Zone to contest inaugural edition 
  • Tournament is part of CAF’s strategy to promote gender equality and empower next generation of female footballers

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) conducted the official draw of the CAF U-17 Girls Integrated Football Tournament (GIFT) Tanzania 2025 on Saturday, 4 January in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Another ground-breaking initiative in CAF’s ongoing Women’s Football Development strategy, the inaugural competition will see eight (8) clubs from across the CECAFA Zone contesting the title in Dar es Salaam.

The tournament will take place between 7 – 18 January 2025 at the Azam Complex Stadium.

Conducting the draw was former Ugandan women’s national team player and coach Nadjida Nantanga,  who was joined by former Kenyan national team and member of the CAF Women’s football committee, Teressa Caleb.

The draw saw the eight clubs drawn into two groups of four, with Tanzania’s JKT Queens headlining Group A consisting of City Lights FC (South Sudan), BD Kemena FC (Ethiopia) and the Kenya Academy of Sports (Kenya).

In Group B, the hosts will be represented by TJS Girls, and they will be up against Consilli Girls (Uganda), Aigle Noir FC (Burundi) and Hilaad FC (Somalia).

The top two clubs from each group will advance to the knockout stages of the competition. 

Running concurrent to the 12-Day tournament will be a number of CAF Women’s Football development programmes, including a CAF D License coaching course, media workshops and various health and wellness initiatives.

GROUP A: JKT Queens (Tanzania), City Lights FA (South Sudan), BD Kenema FC (Ethiopia), Kenya Academy of Sports (Kenya) 

GROUP B: TJS Girls (Tanzania), B. Consilli Girls (Uganda), Aigle Noir FC (Burundi), Hilaad FC (Somalia)
