Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) has extended warm New Year greetings to Nigerians and friends around the world, urging citizens to embrace hope, reflection, and unity as the nation steps into 2026.

In his message, GEJ gave thanks to God for life and the opportunity of a new beginning. He acknowledged the challenges faced in the past year, including economic pressures and persistent insecurity, which have tested the resilience of many families across the country.

“Yet, even in these difficult circumstances, the enduring character of the Nigerian people has remained evident. Across our communities, we have continued to see courage, solidarity, and a quiet determination to persevere,” he said, emphasizing the strength of the nation’s diversity and shared values.

GEJ urged Nigerians to renew their commitment to the ideals that unite the country, stressing that patriotism must be matched with duty from both citizens and leaders. He highlighted that leadership should be anchored in service, humility, integrity, and a sincere dedication to the welfare of the people.

“Through shared responsibility, mutual respect, and steadfast dedication to the national interest, Nigeria can continue on the path toward stability and inclusive development,” he said.

Concluding his message, GEJ wished Nigerians a peaceful, healthy, and fulfilling year ahead, expressing hope for national progress, unity, justice, and shared prosperity in 2026.

This message reflects a call for resilience, civic responsibility, and collective effort as Nigeria navigates the challenges and opportunities of the new year.
