Establishment of OSP key to Ghana’s anti-corruption efforts – President

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has described the establishment of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) as one of his most satisfying moments during his presidency.

In his final State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament on Friday, the President highlighted the creation of the OSP as a significant milestone in Ghana’s fight against corruption.

He noted that despite initial skepticism surrounding its formation, the office had become an invaluable asset in advancing transparency and accountability within the nation’s public sector.

“I believe that, now there is general consensus that it has been an important contributor to our anti-corruption effort.

“For me, this was not just another government office. It was and still is a symbol of our determination to tackle corruption head on.

“I wanted Ghanaians to know that no one, no matter their rank or status, would be above the law,” he added.
