Abutia Traditional Council pays courtesy call on Volta Regional Minister 

A delegation from the Abutia Traditional Council has paid a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, at the Residency in Ho to extend their congratulations and draw attention to key developmental challenges facing their communities.  The delegation was led by the Ho West District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Francis Profer Dusey, and included chiefs and elders of Abutia.  In their discussions, the delegation highlighted several pressing concerns such as; The poor condition of roads linking Abutia to other parts of the district has hampered transportation, access to markets, and socioeconomic development.  They said many communities in Abutia continue to struggle with limited access to potable water, posing health risks and affecting daily life.  ...

Ohempon Dr. Asiamah renovates abandoned old-age building for Atebubu GIS 

Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah, Paramount Chief of the Atebubu Traditional Area, has renovated an abandoned Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) building at the old Atebubu Water Works in the Atebubu-Amantin Municipality.  The refurbished facility will now serve as the permanent office of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) in the Bono East Region.  Mr. Michael Osei, General Manager of the Atebubu Stool Lands Secretariat, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the building had been re-allocated and documented as the official GIS office.  He said the Paramount Chief undertook the renovation after an appeal from GIS personnel in the area, explaining that the facility would enhance the administrative efficiency of the service.  “The gesture reflects the Paramount Chief’s c...

NGO engages Fulbe community to promote social cohesion

Ghana Gold Board Suspends NK Benark Enterprise’s License, Shuts Down Operations Nationwide

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has suspended the license of NK Benark Enterprise, a Tier 2 licensed gold buyer, and ordered the closure of all its trading shops across the country with immediate effect. In a statement issued by GoldBod’s Compliance Directorate, the decision follows the company’s alleged involvement in multiple gold-related offenses. The sole proprietor, Mr. Bernard Nkrumah, has been arrested and is currently facing prosecution before the High Court. The Manhyia Palace has released a public announcement reminding chiefs, traditional leaders, and members of the public attending the final burial rites (Dote Yie) of the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III, Asantehemaa (1927–2025), to strictly comply with safety regulations put in place for the ceremony scheduled for Thursday, September 18, 2025.
