Ghana Gold Board Suspends NK Benark Enterprise’s License, Shuts Down Operations Nationwide

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has suspended the license of NK Benark Enterprise, a Tier 2 licensed gold buyer, and ordered the closure of all its trading shops across the country with immediate effect.

In a statement issued by GoldBod’s Compliance Directorate, the decision follows the company’s alleged involvement in multiple gold-related offenses. The sole proprietor, Mr. Bernard Nkrumah, has been arrested and is currently facing prosecution before the High Court.

GoldBod cautioned all licensed traders, miners, and members of the general public to refrain from conducting any gold-related business with NK Benark Enterprise.

“Notice is hereby given to all licensed traders, miners and the general public to desist from trading and/or engaging in any form of gold transaction with NK Benark Enterprise forthwith,” the statement read.

The regulatory body emphasized its commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency in Ghana’s gold trading sector, pledging strict enforcement of laws and regulations to safeguard the integrity of the industry.

NK Benark Enterprise had operated as a licensed buyer under Ghana’s gold trading framework prior to the suspension. The latest action forms part of GoldBod’s broader compliance and enforcement measures aimed at sanitizing the sector.
