Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the violent attack on a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School in the Eastern Region.
The arrests were made on Monday, January 5, 2026, by the Police Cyber Security Unit, with support from the Kade District Police Command, following investigations into the assault on Mr. Michael Quayson.
According to NAGRAT Eastern Regional Chairman, Awoonor Yevu Godwin, the suspects are expected to appear before the Kade Circuit Court on Tuesday to face charges.
The arrests follow the circulation of a disturbing video on social media showing the teacher being assaulted by a group of students, sparking nationwide outrage and calls for justice.
Teacher unions have condemned the attack and are demanding firm action to protect educators. A preliminary GES report says the incident occurred on October 5, 2025, allegedly after the teacher strictly supervised students during the 2025 WASSCE CRS examination.
