Tottenham Hotspur are delighted to confirm the signing of Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United, subject to the granting of a work permit. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has penned a long-term deal with the club and will wear the number 20 shirt.
Born in Nima, a suburb of Accra, Kudus began his football journey with local side Strong Tower FC before being recruited by the renowned Right to Dream Academy in 2012. His European adventure began in 2018 with Danish club FC Nordsjælland, where he made 57 senior appearances and scored 14 goals, earning a move to Ajax in July 2020.
At Ajax, Kudus quickly showcased his talent, registering four goal contributions in his first three games. In his debut season, he helped the Dutch giants secure both the Eredivisie title and the KNVB Cup. Over three seasons in Amsterdam, Kudus played 87 matches across all competitions, scoring 27 goals. His standout 2022/23 campaign saw him net 18 goals—including four in the UEFA Champions League—and claim a second Eredivisie title in 2021/22.

In August 2023, Kudus moved to West Ham United, marking his Premier League debut a month later. He announced his arrival in Europe’s top league in style, scoring twice on his first start in the UEFA Europa League. His dazzling performances earned him a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Month in December. Kudus ended his debut campaign in England with 14 goals and 9 assists, and won West Ham’s Goal of the Season award for a stunning solo effort against SC Freiburg in the Europa League—an effort also nominated for the prestigious 2024 FIFA Puskás Award.
During his two seasons with the Hammers, he featured 80 times and scored 19 goals in all competitions. His consistent brilliance saw him named Ghana Footballer of the Year in both 2023 and 2024.
Internationally, Kudus made his debut for the Black Stars in November 2019, scoring in a 2-0 win over South Africa in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. He has since earned 42 caps and netted 12 goals for Ghana. He starred at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, scoring twice in the group stage, and represented Ghana again at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
An exciting, dynamic, and versatile attacker, Mohammed Kudus brings flair, power, and a proven goal threat to North London. Spurs fans will be eager to see their newest star in action as the team prepares for the 2025/26 campaign.
