Update on murder of Police Officer at Zebilla: One more suspect arrested

The Ghana Police Service has arrested another suspect in connection with the murder of a police officer at Zebilla in the Upper East Region. The suspect, Abdul Aziz Iddrisu, also known as Baaluuse, was arrested on 17 February 2026 during a joint intelligence-led operation at his hideout in Polego, a suburb of Bolgatanga. According to police sources, three mobile phones were retrieved from the suspect. The devices are currently being analysed as part of ongoing investigations into the case. Police further revealed that the suspect has reportedly appeared in videos displaying weapons believed to be linked to criminal activities in the area. ONE PERSON ARRESTED OVER MURDER OF POLICE OFFICER AT Zebilla

A special police team deployed by the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has arrested a suspect in connection with the robbery and murder of a police officer at Zebilla in the Upper East Region. The suspect, Simon Apusiga, also known as Ananga, aged 42, was apprehended on 10 February 2026 during an intelligence-led operation at his hideout in the Tarkwa Huni Valley area. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect fled Zebilla shortly after the incident on 8 February 2026 and was later traced to the Western Region, where he was eventually arrested. One soldier dead, six others injured in military vehicle crash near Zebilla  

One soldier has died while six others sustained varying degrees of injuries, after a fatal road crash at Saka near Zebilla in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.  The incident which involved a Ghana Armed Forces light-armoured vehicle is said to have occurred around 1600 hours on Saturday, February 22, 2025.  Eyewitness account to the Ghana News Agency, indicated that the vehicle was moving from the direction of Bawku towards Bolgatanga at top speed, when one of its tyres suddenly detached from it, causing the driver to lose control, leading to the accident.   The identities of the deceased and the other officers are yet to be made known, however the injured soldiers were rushed to the Zebilla government hospital for treatment and later airlifted to Ac...
