ONE PERSON ARRESTED OVER MURDER OF POLICE OFFICER AT Zebilla

A special police team deployed by the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has arrested a suspect in connection with the robbery and murder of a police officer at Zebilla in the Upper East Region.

The suspect, Simon Apusiga, also known as Ananga, aged 42, was apprehended on 10 February 2026 during an intelligence-led operation at his hideout in the Tarkwa Huni Valley area.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect fled Zebilla shortly after the incident on 8 February 2026 and was later traced to the Western Region, where he was eventually arrested.

Police say the suspect remains in custody assisting with ongoing investigations and is expected to be put before court to face the full rigours of the law. Authorities have also intensified efforts to track down other individuals believed to have been involved in the attack.
