World Athletics opens nomination process for 2025 Athletes’ Commission elections

  World Athletics is pleased to announce that the nomination process for the World Athletics Athletes’ Commission is now open. Athletes interested in becoming candidates for the six available seats are invited to submit their nominations. The elections to the Athletes’ Commission will be held between 8-20 September 2025 during the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25. Voting is scheduled to take place on site at the championships – at the team accreditation centre – and online, where all athletes accredited to compete will be eligible to vote. Potential candidates must first apply to the Vetting Panel before 7 April 2025 and be declared eligible in order to be nominated by a valid decision of their Member Federation’s Board.
