The Management of Tamale Technical University has announced a series of immediate interventions aimed at addressing student welfare concerns following an emergency meeting held with student leaders on Tuesday. In a statement signed by the Registrar, Shi-Naa Iddrisa Yakubu, and addressed to the Presidents of the Graduate Students’ Association (GRASAAG) and the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), the University outlined five key resolutions to ease tensions and foster a conducive academic environment. Police Restore Calm After Violent Student Protest at Tamale Technical University

The Northern Regional Police Command has restored calm at the Tamale Technical University (TaTU) following a violent student protest on Tuesday morning. According to police, intelligence indicated that around 9:00 a.m., about 500 students massed in front of the school’s administration block to stage an unlawful demonstration. The protest escalated when students set vehicle tyres ablaze at key locations, including the main entrance of the school from the Tamale Secondary School (TAMASCO) direction, the Police Post at Kpalsi, and directly in front of the administration block.
