National Communications Authority Proposes Removal of 5G Exclusivity Clause in NGIC Licence

The National Communications Authority (NCA) has issued a Notice of Proposed Licence Amendment to Next-Gen Infraco (NGIC) under Section 14 of the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775), seeking to remove the 5G exclusivity clause in the company’s licence. According to the Authority, the proposed amendment is aimed at promoting competition and innovation in the provision of 5G services across the country. The NCA said the move is also expected to enhance consumer choice and improve service quality while accelerating Ghana’s nationwide digital transformation. NCA Engages Multichoice Ghana on DStv Pricing Review

The National Communications Authority (NCA) has confirmed that it has received Multichoice Ghana’s official response to its notice of intention to suspend the company’s authorisation and its request for details of their pricing model. In a statement issued on Sunday, the NCA said it has been engaging Multichoice Ghana following the company’s public statement of September 5, 2025. According to the Authority, key clarifications have since been made. NCA Suspends Nine Radio Stations Over Regulatory Infractions

The National Communications Authority (NCA) has suspended the operations of nine radio stations across Ghana for various breaches of broadcasting regulations. The action follows the expiration of a 30-day grace period granted by President John Dramani Mahama, which allowed defaulting stations to address violations of the laws and regulations governing FM radio broadcasting in the country.
