Kadjebi mourns the loss of ‘Korea’ 

The Kadjebi community in the Oti Region has been thrown int a state of mourning following the sudden death of a young and vibrant man, Asimiu Yakubu Amoah, affectionately known as “Korea.”  The deceased, who passed after a short illness, was widely known for his humility, hard work, and commitment to community development.   His passing, according to residents, is a great loss to the district and to Ghana as a whole.  When the Ghana News Agency (GNA) visited Balaki Spot, a popular drinking spot in Kadjebi, around 2035 hours on Saturday, November 1, numerous young persons were seen in deep sorrow, consoling one another over the untimely demise of “Korea.”  Mr. Balaki, owner of Balaki Spot, described the late Korea as a respectful, dedicated, and visionary you...

Kadjebi residents divided over Mother Tongue Policy directive

Residents of Kadjebi in the Oti Region have expressed mixed reactions to the recent directive by Mr Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister of Education, advocating the use of local languages as the medium of instruction from kindergarten to primary three. The directive, which forms part of the government’s efforts to improve literacy and comprehension among early-grade learners, seeks to promote effective teaching and learning by encouraging teachers to communicate in languages pupils understand best. Communal Labour: Kadjebi residents clear public cemetery 

The Action Group for Development of Kadjebi-Akan, a pressure group, in collaboration with the Chiefs and the District Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit, has mobilised residents of Kadjebi township to embark on a communal labour exercise to clear weeds at the public cemetery.  The two-hour exercise drew participation from the Kadjebi Central, Dubonku, Freetown, and Estate/Zongo Electoral Areas.  Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Wofa Taye, Leader, Action Group for Development of Kadjebi-Akan, said the initiative was aimed at complementing the efforts of the District Assembly since development is a shared responsibility.  He explained that residents could not continue to sit aloof and expect the Assembly to do everything for them, hence the mobilisation drive...
