Inferno Ravages Kasoa New Market as 10 Fire Tenders Battle Blaze

A major fire outbreak swept through the Kasoa New Market earlier today, destroying several shops and triggering an extensive emergency response by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).Fire crews from the Kasoa and Weija stations were the first to arrive, supported by reinforcements from across the Greater Accra Region. Officer cautions public against repainting rusty gas cylinders

Assistant Station Officer (ASO), Mr Ofori Collins, Hohoe Municipal Fire Safety Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), has urged the public to avoid recycling of rusty gas cylinders by repainting. He said repainting only beautifies the outer surface of the cylinders and did not make the cylinder new. ASO Ofori during a sensitisation forum at the St. Augustine Catholic Church, Hohoe, urged the faithful not to overfill their gas cylinders with the intention that it would last. He said the attendants knew the standards each cylinder could take hence they should avoid purchasing gas beyond the limits of their cylinders.
