 The Class of 1981 of Bekwai SDA Basic School has marked a historic milestone, celebrating 60 years of life, friendship and shared heritage at a grand dinner and commemoration event held on Sunday, December 28, 2025.   Held on the theme “Together at 60,” the event brought together about 35 former classmates from across Ghana and the diaspora, including the United States and the United Kingdom, making the celebration a rare and emotionally significant reunion of primary school peers who have maintained lifelong bonds.  The highlight of the celebration was a special honour bestowed on the class’s former teacher, Mr. J. No child should be denied education due to distance or lack of classroom space, Mr. Issaka Salifu, Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has declared.He pledged to close infrastructure gaps and prioritise the completion of stalled school projects while tackling overcrowding in classrooms to ensure access to quality basic education.“I have been a teacher all my life and I know what truly affects teaching and learning. Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai MCE rehabilitates Nkatieso-Awaso-Bekwai Road  

Mr Sebastian Obeng, the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has rehabilitated the Nkatieso - Awaso- Bekwai Road, which has been in a deplorable state for some years.   In an interview with the media, the MCE said the road rehabilitation project was a much-needed intervention to improve the lives of residents and boost economic activities in the municipality.   "With the rehabilitated road, transportation becomes easier, and the risk of accidents will decrease significantly," he said.   He added that the intervention would also help to attract more businesses to the area, creating jobs and stimulating growth.   Mr Obeng noted that the impact of the project would be felt across the municipality, saying farmers could now transport...
