The 2024 CAF Awards in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday shone a spotlight on Africa’s top performers over the past 12 months, honouring those who made an outstanding contribution to the game. It was a glittering evening full of stars, a celebration of the passion and vibrancy of African football, and a chance to assess the great strides football on the continent has made in the recent past. Zambia’s Barbra Banda wins BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year award

 Zambian International, Barbra Banda has been named BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year 2024. Banda, who presently plays for National Soccer League club Orlando Pride, has represented Zambia in two Olympic Games and the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.She scored four goals in the Paris Olympics, including a hat-trick against Australia, to become Africa's all-time leading scorer in Olympic football history with 10 goals.
