Police arrest five more suspects in Asemkor murder case
The Western Regional Police Command has intensified its investigation into the gruesome murder of John Abban at Asemkor in the Agona Nkwanta District, arresting five additional suspects believed to be connected to the crime.
According to a police statement, the latest arrests were made at various hideouts across the region. On Thursday, October 23, 2025, police apprehended Kwabena Asirifi, 50, at his hideout in the Ampataano community near Asemkor.
Subsequently, on Friday, October 24, 2025, the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate picked up three more suspects — James Eshun alias Abeiku, 25, Joseph Aidoo alias Moree, 45, and Stephen Nyame alias Joe, 18 — at Abuesi in the Shama District.
