Police launch 24-hour unit
The Ghana Police Service has inaugurated a 24-hour secretariat, fulfilling President John Dramani Mahama’s 2024 campaign pledge to enhance round-the-clock public services.
The initiative aims to stimulate job creation and economic growth by promoting shift-based operations across both public and private sectors.
Speaking at the passing-out ceremony of 1,194 new recruits, including 633 females and 561 males, Interior Minister Alhaji Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka urged officers to serve with commitment and professionalism to meet the rising expectations of the public.
He explained that new units, including the secretariat, have been introduced to help the Service respond effectively to evolving crime trends.
