President John Mahama Visits South Korea for Bilateral Talks and Economic Engagements

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in the Republic of Korea for a high-level visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Ghana and South Korea.

During his stay, President Mahama is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with President Lee Jae Myung, focusing on enhancing cooperation in trade, technology, and education. He will also meet with Speaker of the National Assembly Woo Won-shik to discuss parliamentary collaboration and mutual development initiatives.

As part of the official engagements, the President will attend a ship-naming ceremony at Hyundai Heavy Industries Shipyard in Ulsan, highlighting the growing industrial and maritime partnerships between the two countries. Additionally, he will deliver remarks at a conferment ceremony at Yonsei University, one of South Korea’s premier institutions, emphasizing educational exchange and academic collaboration.

President Mahama will also meet with Ghanaians living, studying, and working in South Korea, reinforcing Ghana’s commitment to its diaspora as a key driver of national development. The visit will conclude with a dinner meeting with business leaders and chief executives, aimed at promoting investment opportunities and boosting bilateral economic relations.

This visit underscores Ghana’s strategic engagement with Asia and its efforts to expand trade, investment, and cultural ties with global partners.
