The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with inciteful comments believed to pose a threat to public peace and security in Bawku and its surrounding communities.
The suspect, identified as Raphael Azare Kariyama, was apprehended through an intelligence-led operation aimed at monitoring and curbing the spread of content that incites violence or undermines public order and national security.
According to the Police, the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure calm and stability in the Bawku area, following heightened concerns over the use of inflammatory language capable of escalating tensions.

Mr. Kariyama is currently in police custody and is expected to be arraigned before court to face the full rigours of the law. The Police say investigations are continuing, and efforts are underway to arrest other individuals believed to be connected to the matter.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has cautioned the general public to desist from making, publishing, or sharing inciteful comments, particularly on social media platforms. The Service emphasized that such actions undermine national peace and security and will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
The Police further reassured the public of their commitment to maintaining law and order across the country and urged citizens to support security agencies by promoting peace and responsible communication.
