Otto Addo Names 26-Man Black Stars Squad for Friendlies Against Austria and Germany

Head coach of the Ghana national football team, Otto Addo, has named a 26-man squad for the upcoming international friendly matches against Austria national football team and Germany national football team scheduled for March 27 and March 30 respectively.

The two matches are expected to serve as an important preparation for the Black Stars as they continue to build momentum ahead of upcoming international competitions.

The squad features a blend of experienced players and emerging talents, with several Ghanaian stars playing across top European leagues earning call-ups.

Goalkeepers

Leading the goalkeeping department is Lawrence Ati-Zigi of FC St. Gallen. He is joined by Benjamin Asare from Accra Hearts of Oak and Joseph Anang of St Patrick’s Athletic F.C..

Defenders

The defensive lineup includes Patric Pfeiffer of SV Darmstadt 98, Derrick Luckassen from Pafos FC, and Derrick Köhn of Union Berlin.

Others are Jerome Opoku of Istanbul Basaksehir F.K., Caleb Yirenkyi of FC Nordsjaelland, Kojo Oppong Peprah from OGC Nice, and Jonas Adjetey of VfL Wolfsburg.

Also included are Marvin Senaya of AJ Auxerre, Alexander Djiku of Spartak Moscow, and Gideon Mensah from AJ Auxerre.

Midfielders

In midfield, the squad will rely on experienced campaigner Thomas Partey of Villarreal CF. He is joined by Elisha Owusu of AJ Auxerre, Ibrahim Sulemana of Cagliari Calcio, and Kwasi Sibo from Real Oviedo.

Forwards and Wingers

The attacking department features experienced striker Jordan Ayew of Leicester City F.C. and dynamic forward Iñaki Williams from Athletic Bilbao.

They will be supported by Brandon Thomas-Asante of Coventry City F.C., Prince Adu of FC Viktoria Plzeň, Christopher Bonsu Baah from Al-Qadsiah FC, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku of Leicester City F.C..

Also in attack are Antoine Semenyo of Manchester City F.C. and Daniel Agyei of Kocaelispor.

Coach Addo is expected to use the friendlies to test combinations and assess player performance as the Black Stars continue their preparations for upcoming international assignments.

The two matches against Austria and Germany are anticipated to provide strong competition and valuable experience for the Ghanaian side as they aim to strengthen the team ahead of future tournaments.
