The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has invited the Member of Parliament (MP) for Chiana-Paga, Hon. Nikyema Billa Alamzy, to appear before its Functional Executive Committee (FEC) following comments he made during a live television program.
In a widely circulated video from the studios of GH One TV, the MP is heard questioning the rationale behind any “thank you tour” by the Party’s leadership in his constituency. According to the Party, his remarks “did not sit well with the leadership” and have raised concerns requiring clarification.
In a letter dated September 29, 2025, signed by Hon. Emmanuel Zumakpeh, Director of Administration, the lawmaker has been scheduled to meet the FEC on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Party’s headquarters in Adabraka, Accra.
The invitation is aimed at giving Hon. Alamzy an opportunity to explain his position and provide further clarification regarding his statements.
The Party also copied the invitation letter to the NDC Regional Chairman in the Upper East Region, the Chiana-Paga Constituency Chairman, and the Majority Leader in Parliament, urging the Regional Chairman to accompany the MP to the meeting.
The development signals the Party’s intention to address what it considers divisive commentary from within its ranks, as it seeks to maintain internal cohesion ahead of future political activities.
